This course is great for anyone looking to expand their understanding of coffee. Persons new to the coffee industry, fans of drinking coffee, salespersons and more.  

We are offering this as a two-night course for those with a day job. We will start on January 22 and end on January 23. Both days we will meet from 4-6:30pm.

In this course we will discuss:

1. Coffee Knowledge - where coffee comes from and conditions it needs to grow

2. Roasting - the basics of the process

3. Freshness - packaging and storage

4. Sensory - evaluating brewed coffee and what effects the final cup

5. Brewing - brewing methods and how they impact the final cup

6. Water - the importance of water in the brewing process

7. Cleaning and Maintenance - how to care for your equipment

Cost: $150 includes printed course material, coffee, live lecture and hand’s on activities. Certificate available from Specialty Coffee Association for $25 fee payable to SCA.
