Join us as we dive into the history and current state of coffee brewing.

Brewing Foundation is a beginners course and is great for anyone looking to expand their understanding of coffee brewing. Persons new to the coffee industry, fans of drinking coffee, salespersons and baristas can learn how to find the best brew for any coffee. 

This is a distance learning course. To participate from a distance, you will need access to good working internet and a laptop or tablet. Coffee brewing equipment is also necessary to participate in the tasting exercises. Use your own or we can provide equipment options at a small additional cost.

In this course we will cover:

1.     Coffee Knowledge - origins, sensory impacts of species, process, and freshness

2.     Brewing Methods and Equipment - methods, devices, and grinders

3.     Brewing Guidelines - 7 essentials elements of brewing coffee

4.     Brewing Process - using different devices

5.     Brewing Analysis - describing the brew and adjusting parameters to find optimum balance

6.     Maintenance – cleaning

 

Course Fees: $425 includes instruction, coffee supplies, digital or printed course materials, and shipping within the USA. SCA Certificate available for an additional $50 certificate fee. 

We can provide brewing equipment for an additional fee or send suggestions for you to attain before class.
